Opportunities at Hoops Across the Pond
Hoops Across the Pond is a community-led women’s basketball media project, and we’re always interested in hearing from people who want to get involved, build experience and explore their passion for the game.
Volunteering with HATP can include writing articles, creating social content, making TikToks and Reels, researching stories and statistics, covering games, contributing fan perspectives, helping with community content and more.
There are no strict hours or quotas. This is designed to be flexible, fun and manageable alongside work, university and everyday life. The aim is to give people real opportunities to develop skills, build a portfolio, gain published work and try areas of sports media they may want to pursue in the future.
You don’t need years of experience or a journalism degree. We care much more about enthusiasm, reliability, creativity and a genuine interest in women’s basketball.

What you can gain
Volunteers can use their HATP work to build experience across sports media, digital publishing, social media, interviewing, research and content creation. Where appropriate, contributors receive bylines and credits and can use published work within portfolios, CVs and future applications.
Most importantly, we want HATP to be somewhere you can learn by doing in a supportive environment.
